Sara’s debut novel Blood Red Sky (Arkbound, 2025) reflects her commitment to amplifying the voices of care-experienced children who have encountered the justice system at a young age.

Sara was an English and Guidance Teacher for 17 years in Fife before moving into Public Protection training. Sara was inspired and deeply moved by her students’ stories of bravery, in the face of impossible systems, to live their lives as best they could.
